The last "world premiere" of the Apple iPhone took place in Honolulu, at the flagship Apple Store at Ala Moana Center. At 2 p.m., the store was closed up, the windows were blacked out, and the wait began. Those in line got to know each other, got interviewed by the media, and were given some refreshments. Eventually, claps and cheers erupted as hundreds of eager buyers parted with hundreds of dollars to own Apple's first mobile phone.
