Hawaii got its second Apple Store today at Kahala Mall. The 5,000-square-foot Apple Store Kahala is the first Apple Store opening in three months, and is part of Apple's ambitious plan to open as many as 40 stores in 2007. First in line, at 3 a.m., was Dean Masai. And before the opening, the store was blessed by Hawaiian chant and hula.

Kahala Mall is still reeling from major flooding last year, and lost several tenants. The hope is that the Apple Store will help draw people back to the shopping center, situated in East Honolulu.
