Sushi Sasabune

A visit to Sushi Sasabune (1417 South King St., Honolulu, Hawaii, USA) with Alex and Sandy Avriette, newlyweds. Video was taken as the restaurant was closing, so don't judge the place based on all the plastic wrap — by far, chef Seiji Kumagawa makes the best sushi I've ever had. Music is "Erased" from EPIC by Kenji Williams (Magnatune/CC:BY-NC-SA). You can download a larger version (320x240/26.2MB) courtesy the Internet Archive+

Please be on your guard. A group called gotmercury.org is putting down sushi. They state tuna in sushi is inedible because of high concentration of mercury. The danger of their assertions,to quote one of members: "Eating sushi is the new Russian roulette." It is a viscous generalized statement that does not recognize the other types of sushi that are topped with various delicacies. Their purpose is to pass on their misinformation to the rest of the country. Please help in preserving the great sushi culture. Mr.Nobi Kusuhara of Sasabune L.A. was interviewed but did not explain the differences in sushi as I am trying to do: not all sushi is topped with tuna. Interestingly, anti-Japanese seem to constantly originate from California. I'm a Farrington Hign class of '46 grad, formerly of Kapalama.
