Getting the fire going. Ahh... Happy New Year's Eve. Here's to a

The drive down from the Onizuka visitor center, already a steep, low-

gear adventure, was made more interesting as the thick fog rolled up

the mountain. Visibility was about as low as I'd ever seen it. We

followed this snow-filled truck at about 20 m.p.h. until it turned

toward Kona on Saddle Road.

summit into Hilo and Kona.

Pano 2.0

Debacle Software released version 2.0 of its Pano iPhone app today.

It's faster and more stable, but the big news is that it stitches up

to six images (up from four) and allows portrait mode. Here's my first

six image, portait pano. Indoors, even. And I'm very happy. Portrait

mode allows more vertical coverage and, I think, better stitching

(barrel correction).



The blurry section at right isn't so much a bad seam as it is my shaky

hand for the last shot.



This is scaled by the iPhone's email app. I'll upload the full version

later.
