LOST Fan Page on Facebook
True story: When Facebook launched "Fan Pages" (a more streamlined
iteration of "Groups"), I started one of the first for "LOST." It
quickly became the most popular fan page for the show. Of course,
eventually, ABC launched its own, official "LOST" fan page, and my
page was killed off. But weirdly, fragments of my old fan page still
exist somewhere in the Facebook system, and it pops up in weird ways.
For example, I can get "Facebook Insights" reports for the
non-existent page. Since nobody can see or interact with it, though,
activity is zero and the number of fans is slowly dropping. There are
still 197,715 of them, though! Curiously, there are dozens of other
unofficial fan pages devoted to "LOST" on Facebook today. I think the
problem with mine was that it probably was overshadowing the official
page at first.
