Apple Store MySpace Mayhem
Taking a class near Ala Moana affords me the luxury/agony of visiting the
Apple Store every day. One phenomenon that's been impossible to miss has
been the unending stream of teens coming in to use the new Macs' built-in
iSight cameras and Apple's nifty Photo Booth effects software. MySpace is
the primary destination of the resulting images. A saleswoman confirmed
that their store is now a genuine teen destination and meeting place, as
they get dolled up, sashay in, and mug for the camera over and over. She
says spring break was a madhouse, and that summer will probably bring a
whole new flood of kids. We now chat regularly about particularly elaborate
poses or outfits.
The other top hobby? Checking out school fights on YouTube.com.
